I don’t think you will be disappointed. 
I pre-ordered this drum kit for two reasons.
1. I had just broken my 2nd drum kit.
2. Cymbal’s looked cool as hell!
Since I had already broken two of the cheap drum kits that came with the original rock band I was looking for a replacement and I wanted one that would last more than a few months. I will admit I’m a heavy hitter but the first thing to go on my kit’s would be the cheap plastic drum pedal. then after I splint that a drum pad would stop responding. Soon after that I would stop putting the drum set away and either the dog or cat would chew the wires. So I can already tell that this pedal won’t break in a month (If it does I will update this review) and if it does it seems I can easily replace the pedal without replacing the whole kit. I would have given this 5 stars if it wasn’t for one thing. for $299 I sort of expected this kit to be wireless. I’m totally fine with each pad being hooked to the controller with what seems to be a pretty standard wire that if my animals do eat through I can replace for under $10. But my fear is that I forget to put it away one night and they chew through the cable that actually connects to the xbox. That would be the only place that I would expect it be wireless. To be fare it is never stated as a wireless kit but come on you can a cheap wireless guitar. If I’m going to shell out $300 I would think wireless connection to the xbox would be included. But with that aside I think it’s a great kit. And if you have had to replace your kit more than once this is probably the kit for you. Also I really enjoyed playing rock band with friends but never really enjoyed playing by myself. With this kit I want to play every night. Maybe it’s the songs on Rock Band 2 but this kit is really fun to play.
Best $300 add on for the aspiring drummer! 
This is a perfect way to learn how to play the drums, have fun while doing it and not have the neighbors tell you to “Keep it down!”
After the 20 minutes of assembling and using the instructions as a photo reference, since they were pretty much useless, this set rocks! The kick pedal is way better then the standard kits’ allowing you to actually hit those double strokes your original pedal exploded in half on. Sure it still doesn’t feel like a real pedal but it works. Very solid construction and hopefully it lasts longer then 2 months (the life of my previous Rock Band drum kit).
If you want to learn how to play the drums this is the set to get. Rock Band 2 is geared around the drums and has included a drum trainer. The drum trainer teaches you how to play rolls and fills. It also lets you drum along to any song that you have on your Xbox 360. $300 bucks is a little steep but it is a real e-drum kit. Buy It Now!
I’m a little worried
I’ve had my drums for a little less than a week. There is going to be a new learning curve for getting used to these and getting them setup.
The quality of the components is solid. Much sturdier than the regular Rockband 1 or 2 drums.
The pads feel great. Nice solid bounce and so far NO crosstalk or missed hits.
However, both of my cymbals are a bit flaky, requiring me to hit them too hard for it to register every hit. The high hat (yellow) one isn’t usable on faster songs…too many misses.
I’ve got an email into ION’s support, so we’ll see how that goes.
Even without the cymbals, this is a huge improvement over the RockBand basic kit.
Should def. consider buying!!!
Good set. Ridiculously stupid instructions. One of my things were cracked right out of the box. Otherwise Great item!!! I’d Buy from amazon again!!!
Love It!!
Mr. Whittle explained it nicey. I’ve had mine about a week now and love it. Assembly was very easy. Positioning items is personal taste on how you play. The kick pedal, I hate it slides all over the place it has two metal screws to help hold it down, but your wife/mother may oppose to screwing holes into the carpet or wooden floors, however duct tape works great.
The play is right on and it nevers misses a note, due to a technical error. Very well constructed. I had the orig. RB set which I broke the foot pedal and later broke the red pad which was not fully supported. So this was a nice change. There is nothing like rocking away on this set, catching the perfect fill and ending with a nice crash.
I would recommend buying from amazon as I was double charged through ION and had to jump through hoops to get my money refunded. Customer service at ION is horrible. Which after being on hold for 15min. I was disconnected 3 times. Again this is why I would recommend buying from amazon.
Overall, to get a great drumming feel in a video game, this is awesome!! Just make sure to warm up your wrist before playing I got Carpol Tunnel Syndrom from been exited with my new drumset and playing for 5 hours staright ata time
